In today’s world of online shopping, social media is a powerful tool that can help create more leads and sales for (e-commerce) businesses.

In this story, I’ll talk about the importance of social media for (e-commerce) businesses and how you can fully automate everything from content creation to content publishing in an hour or less, without having to be a creative genius.

For any business, using social media is essential to stay relevant, competitive and be present where their customers are.

It can be tempting to focus on your core product or service instead of diversifying into the digital world.

But you’re missing out if you don’t take advantage of this opportunity. Here are some reasons why:

1) 80% of consumers said they had a good experience with a brand after following or engaging with them via social media.

2) Your competitors will use it against you.

3) You’ll lose potential customers who want to interact with your brand online but can’t find anything about it!

I’m not saying that starting a social media presence is easy, far from it.

But the effort pays off in spades, time and time again. It is beneficial to any business to have a presence on social media, no matter what your business is or the size that you are.

Here are some numbers just to give you an idea of how important social networks are:

  • Facebook has 1.49 billion monthly active users.
This is more than the combined populations of North America, South America, Europe and Oceania.
  • On average, there are more than 500 million tweets sent every day.
  • There are over 1 billion people on LinkedIn…that’s about the same population as the United States, Canada and Mexico combined!
  • Over 1 million businesses actively use Twitter (67% of all B2B businesses).

So if you’ve decided to get on board with social media marketing, there is something you should know.

Managing your social media presence can be very time-consuming.

You need to post engaging content consistently that gets attention, is seen by the right audience and makes them want to buy from you.

It’s tough trying to come up with new content every day, let alone figuring out how many times you need to post about a particular subject.

Quite quickly it becomes boring and repetitive to create content for your store’s latest products or services.

The last thing that you need is another job added to your already busy schedule!

So what other options do you have?

  1. Skip sleep and work 20 hour days
  2. Outsource your social media management, which easily cost you 3k a month (the average salary of social media managers according to Glassdoor.com)

For most (small) businesses, these aren’t really viable options.

I am very excited to share that we’re working on another option, FreshPop — Auto Pilot Socials.

Auto Pilot Socials takes the management of your social media accounts out of your hands.

It automatically takes your stores’ product and blog posts and automates publishing to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest.

The best part is that you only have to set up three things once, and you’re good to go.

First, you decide which social media accounts you want to publish content on.

With your accounts linked it’s now time to decide when you want new content published to each of your accounts, by setting a posting schedule.

Because your tone of voice is important, you decide you create templates for each platform.

You can include dynamic values in your captions that will be replaced with the product name or URL when published.

That’s all, sit back relax and watch as the orders start flowing in.

The plan is to launch this app after FreshPop — Pop Up Widgets on Shopify and Squarespace.
